Coming up on Monday: Self Reliance course

Learn how to fence a paddock to keep animals in or out…

As part of our 10 week Permaculture Life Skills Internship, but also open to external students (people not undertaking the Internship), we will be starting a 5 day Self Reliance course this coming Monday (10th September).

The course includes basic but necessary skills like wood harvesting (chainsaw operating), fencing (animal paddocks, keeping wild dogs/foxes out and your domestic animals in), handyman jobs (fittings, welding, fixing things with minimum outlay), resources (locating and salvaging resources, keeping resources handy until the right job comes along) and most of all, students are taught to creatively problem solve.

Preserving, fermenting and dehydrating

Some time will also be spent in the kitchen, and focus is given to food storage and preparation for longer life: dehydration, fermentation and preserving. Cheese, butter, ghee, yoghurt, kefir, kimchi/saurkraut, yakon syrup and more.

There are still spaces available for this course, book now and don’t miss out!

Cost: $795, includes camping (byo tent and camping gear) and all meals for 5 days.
