Projects Courses in 2014:
Project 1: Water Management
Being able to store and correctly distribute water on a property is of utmost importance, especially with drought and flooding becoming more common place. It is vital for any land owner to plan for disaster, and good water management design will assist minimising erosion issues and ensure there is enough water on a property to last through a drought.
This course focuses on designing water management for a property, building dams and swales and subsequent planting out to prevent erosion. As part of the design surveying and contour will be discussed and applied in practice.
Project 2: Sustainable Building Methods
In this world full of waste it is essential we all give thought to recycling old materials and using local natural materials to minimise our ecological footprint. This course focuses on designing and building structures using natural, locally sourced and recycled materials. White ant prevention, natural heating methods and solar passive design are also discussed and implemented.
