My opinion on Facebook permaculture debates...
Tom and I are excited to open our gates to people for CelebrATE! on Labour Day weekend, and to showcase our permaculture property which is currently providing us with around 90% of our food, 100% of our cooking energy needs and most of our animal feed. The not for profit Permaculture Research Institute Sunshine Coast Inc. (www.permaculturesunshinecoast.org) is organising CelebrATE!, a two day celebration of Permaculture, Music and Food on our Permaculture Demonstration and Education site “Maungaraeeda” (Place of Food) in the Noosa Hinterland town of Kin Kin on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
The grade 9 class from the Noosa Pengari Steiner Waldorf school had a 2 week permaculture school camp at Maungaraeeda. They had a electronic free 2 weeks on the land, a wonderful group of students and teachers!
Tom was asked to participate in a documentary by 15 year old Bayley Pilling. The short film is in the finals of the Noosa International Film Festival and will be officially screened as part of the festival on the 5th of November 2016. On day 6 of the PDC (Permaculture Design Certificate) course, students were shown hands on how to survey with different tools. We also show here the various afternoon jobs and raw banana pie for morning tea!
